Council Tax Collection Rate

These analyses present National Statistics on the collection rates of council tax and non-domestic rates by local authorities.

The in-year collection rate is how much the local authority collected by 31 March of the council tax (or non-domestic rates) as a percentage of the amount they would have collected if everyone liable had paid what they were supposed to.

It includes prepayments made in previous years in respect of this year but it does not include prepayments made this year in respect of next year nor does it include the payment of any arrears.
