NFSP calls for support to reverse Barclays scrapping of post office cash withdrawals

The National Federation of SubPostmasters (NFSP) is seeking co-signatures for an open letter to Barclays CEO Jes Staley

The NFSP is requesting that the bank reverse its decision to cease allowing customers to withdraw cash at post offices from January 2020.

Many Barclays customers rely on their local post office as a place where they can access essential banking services in a trusted environment. Barclays’ actions will be damaging to their customers, and it risks damaging a national institution - the local post office.

The NFSP believes that support from rural agencies and stakeholders will demonstrate concern among the organisations that work most closely with the people and communities likely to be worst-affected by Barclays’ plans.

To lend your support by co-signing the letter, please get in touch with Peter Hall, NFSP Head of Policy and Research by Friday 25 October on 01273 452324 or at peter.hall@nfsp.org.uk
