In order to deliver effective policy to rural communities, it is important to understand what is happening within rural communities. This requires accurate measures and metrics that set out the reality of rural life. This can be used as part of the rural proofing process.
DEFRA provide a rural Statistical Digest which sets out a range of information to be used by policy makers and service providers alike.
