In a world where connectivity is no longer a luxury but a lifeline, Mova is helping transform the nation’s digital landscape. As a joint venture owned by the UK’s mobile network operators, EE, Virgin Media O2, and VodafoneThree, Mova is uniquely placed to help deliver nationally important telecommunications projects.
Our vision is bold and inclusive, a UK where innovative infrastructure reaches everyone. Whether you're in the heart of the city or exploring a national park, we believe in a digitally connected nation where opportunity isn’t dictated by geography, and nobody is left behind.
Delivering innovation at scale is no small feat, it’s a complex task that requires the bringing together of technology, policy, and people. That’s where Mova’s strength lies, not just in what we build, but in how we bring people together to build it.
Collaboration is at the core of what we do, from bridging gaps between public and private stakeholders to uniting opposing interests, Mova’s lean, agile team brings together expertise in cybersecurity, procurement, communications, stakeholder engagement, project management, and finance.
Since 2012, Mova has been behind some of the UK’s most transformative communications initiatives, including extending 4G coverage to 95% of the UK, and ensuring the continued delivery of free to air television, while meeting strict regulatory and government policy criteria.
Restore TV, a Mova-led programme, ensures millions of households continue to enjoy free-to-view television through an aerial, such as Freeview, BT, TalkTalk, and YouView as mobile masts are activated. To date, Mova has already helped over 135,000 households who experienced interference caused by mobile services.
Perhaps one of our most ambitious projects to date is the Shared Rural Network (SRN), a collaborative initiative between the UK’s mobile network operators and the UK Government. The goal is to bring reliable 4G coverage to the UK’s most remote areas, transforming how rural areas are able to connect to digital services.
The SRN has already met the over-arching target of ensuring 95% of UK landmass has outdoor 4G coverage from at least one operator over a year ahead of schedule, as well as delivering an additional coverage for 280,000 premises and over 16,000km of roads. Over 10,000 square kilometres now have coverage for the first time, and 35,000 square kilometres now enjoy service from all four operators for the first time.
The next phase of SRN will push even further into hard-to-reach rural areas, unlocking benefits associated with economic growth, tourism, health and safety, and consumer choice. Mova isn’t just building networks, we’re building bridges between communities and opportunity.
As the UK prepares for the next wave of technological evolution, Mova’s model offers a compelling blueprint that sees public investment work alongside cross-sector collaboration. Whether it’s retiring outdated broadcasting and communications methods, or rolling out future-ready infrastructure, Mova is ready to lead the charge, ensuring that no one, and nowhere, is left behind.
Mova is proud to be a sponsor of the National Rural Conference 2025. On Tuesday 16 September, the Rural Connectivity session will explore how closing the digital divide transforms rural life. Hear directly from Bryn Jones of the Shared Rural Network and be part of the conversation that connects every corner of the UK. Book your place here.
