NALC Annual Conference 2027: Bookings Now Open

22 Oct 2026

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has opened bookings for its Annual Conference 2027, taking place on Wednesday 23 June, from 10am to 4pm, at 1 Wimpole Street, London.

NALC’s flagship national event will bring together councillors, sector leaders, parliamentarians, policymakers and practitioners to discuss issues affecting local communities and local democracy. It offers parish and town councillors, clerks and those working with the sector an opportunity to share learning and strengthen their networks.

Exploring The Future Of Local Government

Devolution and local government reorganisation will be central themes, with sessions examining progress, councils’ experiences of reform and what the next phase could mean for the sector.

Discussions will explore how parish and town councils can develop stronger relationships with strategic authorities, influence local priorities and help put communities at the heart of decision-making.

The programme will also address practical challenges, including:

  • Standards and conduct: NALC’s campaign for a stronger standards regime and steps councils can take to address poor behaviour.
  • Council finances: the changing funding landscape, proper practices and local audit.
  • Community resilience: preparing for emergencies, responding to flooding and adapting to a changing climate.

Through expert perspectives, debate and practical examples, the conference will give delegates opportunities to consider how their councils can respond to change.

For those working with rural communities, these discussions offer a chance to explore the role of parish and town councils in representing local needs and strengthening community resilience.

Tickets cost £115 plus VAT for NALC members.
