Are rising heating oil or LPG costs affecting you, someone you support or the communities you work with?
The Rural Services Network is looking for personal stories that show how off-grid heating costs are affecting rural households, village halls and community organisations.
Alongside ACRE and SCVO, we have called on the Government to provide urgent support. Real experiences can help bring these pressures to life and strengthen the case for action.
You may have experienced these challenges yourself, or come across people who are:
- Struggling to afford an oil or LPG delivery.
- Rationing their heating or worrying about running out.
- Cutting back on food or other essentials to pay for fuel.
- Finding it difficult to access financial support.
We also welcome examples of village halls and community organisations struggling to meet heating bills or keep their buildings warm and open.
