Professor Chris Whitty To Speak At RSN Rural Health & Care Seminar

28 Sep 2026

RSN members are invited to join our next Rural Health & Care seminar on Wednesday, 2 December 2026, from 11am to 1pm.

We are delighted that Professor Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer for England, will be among the speakers at this live, interactive online session.

The seminar will explore access to health and care in rural communities, bringing members together to consider current challenges, share experiences and discuss how services can better respond to rural needs.

Continuing The Conference Conversation

The seminar follows a wide-ranging Rural Health & Care session at this year’s National Rural Conference.

Speakers examined how distance, limited transport, digital connectivity, workforce pressures and ageing populations affect access to services. The session also explored hidden rural health inequalities, adult social care in rural and coastal communities, and the contribution of culture and rural touring to wellbeing.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion. We look forward to continuing the conversation in December.

If you are a Sparse, Assembly or RHCA or RSP member you can access resources from the National Rural Conference Health and Care session here.
