Supporting sustainable, inclusive travel for communities

Bus Users is part of a group of charities and non-profits working to improve sustainable, inclusive transport and active travel for local communities.

Communities depend on public, community and shared transport alongside walking and cycling to improve health, wellbeing and prosperity, and to protect the climate and local area. The aim of the sustainable transport group is to unlock the benefits of sustainable, inclusive transport by supporting and empowering communities, and advising policy and decision-makers.

As part of its work, the group has put together an overview of the support each of its members can offer local authorities in developing their decarbonisation and sustainable transport plans. The paper explains the work of each organisation and its specific area of expertise, along with contact details and links to resources and further information.

The organisations represent all aspects of sustainable transport and active travel and include Bus Users, Campaign for Better Transport, the Clean Air Parents’ Network, Client Earth, Community Rail Network, the Community Transport Association, CoMoUK, Greener Journeys, Living Streets, Sustrans and Transport Focus.
