Two Free Patients Association Webinars: Patient Consent And Bladder & Bowel Care

02 Oct 2026

The Patients Association is hosting two free webinars this October, exploring how patients can make informed choices about their care and access products and services that meet their needs.

Patients, healthcare professionals and organisations supporting patients are encouraged to attend and share the events with their networks.

Making Decisions Together: Supporting Conversations About Bladder And Bowel Products And Services
Wednesday 14 October 2026 | 10am–11am | Online

Delivered in partnership with Coloplast, this webinar will explore patients’ experiences of accessing bladder and bowel products and services, including the challenges of getting care that meets their individual needs.

The Patients Association and Coloplast have worked with patients to develop resources that help people understand their rights and support conversations about their care. The session will introduce this work and consider concerns about the influence of cost on decisions about products and treatment.

Chaired by Patients Association Chief Executive Rachel Power, the panel will include representatives from Coloplast, the Urostomy Association and Colostomy UK, alongside patient advocate Jacq Emkes.

Patient Consent: Making Sure Your Voice Is Heard, Understood And Respected
Wednesday 21 October 2026 | 4pm–5pm | Online

Delivered in partnership with Radar Healthcare, this webinar will explore what meaningful consent looks like for patients and healthcare professionals.

Consent involves communication and shared decision-making, with patients receiving the information they need to make an informed choice. The session will examine the difference between simply agreeing to something and giving informed consent, what information patients should expect, and how professionals can support people to ask questions, express concerns and make decisions.

Rachel Power will chair a panel bringing together patient experience and speakers from the Patient Information Forum, Radar Healthcare and Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT).

Both webinars are free to attend. Please share these opportunities with patients, colleagues and your wider networks.
