£200 million broadband investment in rural Cumbria

Westmorland Gazette reports that broadband provider, Fibrus, has revealed its plans for its roll out across Great Britain - starting with ‘underserved towns and villages’ in Cumbria

In a staged approach, the expansion from Fibrus will see it cover over 40 towns and villages aims to reach over 113,000 premises in the next three years.

Fibrus' launch is particularly focused on areas that have traditionally been poorly served by broadband in the north of England.

As part of its £200 million investment in Cumbria, the internet provider will bring hyperfast broadband to residents in rural towns and villages which will boast a transformative new service they can rely on, for the first time.

Further supporting the community, the expansion is set to create over 200 jobs across Cumbria.
