MAJOR BOOST TO THE CAMPAIGN FOR A RURAL STRATEGY:
The Independent Food, Farming & Countryside Commission hosted by the RSA in its report launched on Tuesday 16th July ‘Our Future in the Land’ has added its voice to the calls by the RSN and the House of Lords Select Committee for a comprehensive Rural Strategy (more to follow)
We have four priority areas where we focus our work, Public Sector Funding, Barriers to Access, Future of Rural Areas and Health and Wellbeing. This section sets them out in more detail.
Our membership is wide ranging and this area provides a flavour of the organisations that interact and are in membership with the Rural Services Network.
Key research reports and publications produced by the Rural Services Network are included in this section.
This section provides an overview of our team members that work around England, supporting the RSN.
This section sets out the ways in which we provide our services and help to provide a voice for rural areas.
The RSN campaigns for fairer funding for rural areas. It costs more to deliver services in rural areas and the way that the Local Government Finance Settlement has been calculated has resulted in rural areas being significantly underfunded when compared to urban areas for a number of years. We want fairer funding for rural areas.
