Agriculture campaigner highlights cost to farmers of rural theft

The Swindon Advertiser reports that farmers in Wiltshire are calling for more funding to be allocated to county police to tackle the issue of rural crime

The most common issue being theft, ranging from expensive machinery to livestock, is sometimes also accompanied by heritage crime and wildlife crime such as animal cruelty, poaching and hare coursing.

During the pandemic, rural areas saw a slight drop in crime but as Covid restrictions ease, rural communities worry about the resurgence of such issues.
