August Edition of Casebook - Health Funding Opportunities from the Rural Health and Care Alliance

This month’s featured funding opportunities are:

Medical Research Council (MRC) - Public health intervention development (PHIND)

Funding of up to £150,000 is available to develop an intervention addressing a UK or global public health issue. Population level interventions, with a focus on non-health care settings (such as transport, education, employment, leisure and the built environment), are encouraged. Funding is for projects of up to 18 months in duration.

Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for MRC funding.

UKRI – Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) – Healthy Ageing Challenge Framework

Funding of up to £150,000 for organisations to deliver social impact and address one or more of the 7 themes of the Healthy Ageing Challenge Framework.

Two project strands are available:

Healthy Ageing Social Ventures Feasibility Studies for projects with costs up to £50,000

Healthy Ageing Social Ventures industrial research for projects with costs from £50,000 to £150,000 for prototype development and evaluation

This is phase 1 of a potential 2-phase competition.

The Prince’s Countryside Fund

Two grant programmes are currently available:

Supporting Rural Communities - grants of up to £25,000 over two years,?for innovative projects that will create a long-term difference in remote rural areas of the UK.

Project Village Survival - grants of up to £10,000 over one year, for projects that are addressing rural community resilience and ensuring their village’s future viability.

Project proposals for East Anglia, the north-east of England, Northern Ireland, and Wales are particularly welcomed.
