Budget: Government pledges billions to improve rural broadband and 4G

MailOnline reports in their money section, ThisIsMoney, that households in rural areas of Britain have been promised better internet speeds as the Government pledged £5 billion towards providing fast broadband to 'the hardest to reach places' in last week’s Budget

The rollout of gigabit-capable broadband is forecast to improve connectivity in the most difficult to reach 20 per cent of the country.

More than 100 schools in rural areas are also set to receive full fibre broadband in the next twelve months under the Rural Gigabit Connectivity programme.

The funding is just one commitment from the Government designed to ‘level-up’ underserviced areas of the country.
