Classic car owners face long road ahead for fuel as rural pumps switch to greener petrol

The Telegraph reports that, rural fuel stations which maintain single-pump forecourts will begin to solely stock new standard E10 petrol, despite it not being compatible with older car engines

Already widely available in the US, Europe and Australia, the fuel is being introduced in the UK for environmental reasons.

E10 is not compatible with around 600,000 older cars made before 2000 and therefore this move to the greener fuel may force drivers in rural areas to travel further to refuel or risk running out.
