Community Development work at YMCA Lincolnshire

For over 155 years, YMCA Lincolnshire have been working across the county to ensure that all people and communities have the opportunity to belong, contribute and thrive so that they feel safe, valued and fulfilled. From addressing homelessness and youth engagement, to early years education and community development, the charity works to create a lasting positive change across the whole county, including some of the most isolated areas. Village Halls Advisory Service:

YMCA Lincolnshire operate a tailored support subscription service which is open to all village halls and community buildings in the county.

We provide high quality and specialist advice covering all aspects of village hall and community building management, advice on funding, community consultations, volunteer management and governance issues. We also offer opportunities for committees to learn from each other via regular cluster meetings held across Lincolnshire.

Support to existing groups and committees with governance, funding applications, planning and getting volunteer support:

We work collaboratively with communities utilising community development principles to support, empower and bring projects to life.  This may include applying for funding, supporting you to access essential services and provide valuable advice to support new ideas and projects within your community.

Community engagement - what we can offer:

The Community Development team encourage and facilitate innovative ideas that address community needs and make a positive change. We can support this by helping you create meaningful community engagement surveys which in turn identify the supports, activities and interests amongst your residents.  

Networking opportunities - connecting people: 

We help to build strong networks among community members, organisations and share resources to enhance collaborations and collective impact both online and face to face throughout the county.

Webinars - training and information sessions:

The Community Development team offer a number of free webinars to attend throughout the year covering both areas of challenge and interest to all our communities.  The subjects we currently cover are funding, volunteering, marketing and social media to promote your events, activities and community groups.
