The below analysis uses the Calculation of Council Tax Base 2019 published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government to examine the composition of house values of second homes (applying the Council Tax Bands) within local authority areas. The analysis shows the proportion of dwellings within each council tax band that are second homes for a chosen local authority, a comparative average for authorities of similar rurality, and provides the ranking in each council tax band again comparing to local authorities of same rurality.
