Covid-19 rural lockdown exit strategy update from the RSN

In a recent Bulletin we report on the letter dated 14th April sent to Matt Hancock, The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care on the Coronavirus exit strategy and the implications for rural communities

In response, we have been promised a discussion with DHSC Official and as a consequence we emailed all RSN member authorities Directors of Public Health and all RHCA members asking urgently for any comments on issues we might raise in the meeting with DHSC (and Defra Officials) – the meeting which was cancelled last week and has yet to be re-arranged.

We have prepared this document which summarising the responses received. We are extremely grateful to the respondents – especially given the short timescales given.

We are pressing for the promised meeting to go ahead as soon as possible and if any members wish to send comments on issues to raise we continue to welcome them. We are considering writing again to Matt Hancock as much has changed in the month since we first wrote.
