RURAL stakeholders have a final opportunity to book their place at the 2016 Rural Health Network conference.

A wide ranging line-up of speakers has been brought together to deliver on the latest best practice and cutting edge developments in health and social care for rural populations. 

The Rural Health Network Conference 2016, the third of its type, will convene in the House of Lords, London, on 29 January 2016.

Under the theme Challenging Times – A new Dimension?, the one-day event will explore ways of working together to deliver effective rural health services.

It follows the continuing national debate about the future development of the NHS in the wake of last month's Spending Review announcements.

Negotiations over the government's contract with junior doctors are also keeping health and the NHS at the top of the political agenda.

Meanwhile, changes to rural health and social care services provision continue at a pace.

No surprise then that there are only a few places left for the conference.

The event will be chaired by Baroness Byford and includes a presentation from Duncan Selbie, chief executive of Public Health England.

Professor Alison Marshall will give a presentation about the pioneering Cumbria Rural Health Forum partnership in north-west England.

Professor Lora Fleming and her team will examine Research and Innovation in E-Wellbeing.

Other topics include "Transforming End of Life Care for rural communities" and "An integrated Housing, Health and Social Care case study."

Professor Ray Jones will examine the opportunities afforded by technology in a presentation titled "Technology Enabled Health and Social Care in Rural Areas".
