The Daily Mail reports that England cricket legend Lord Botham has backed a rural partnership of nine organisations, including the Countryside Alliance, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation and the British Game Alliance, called Aim to Sustain
The partnership is the first collective body for the game industry and is estimated to be worth £2 billion for the rural economy.
The body will advocate for the 'crucially important' role gamekeepers play in land management by protecting and promoting 'the many wide-ranging conservation, biodiversity and community benefits that make the countryside the place [many] love'.
