Meet Sally: A Glimpse Into The Role

Sally, who has been an integral part of our team as an Administrative Support Officer, is moving on to an exciting new role at the Royal Countryside Fund. This exciting opportunity allows her to continue her passion for supporting rural communities, something Sally has been deeply committed to during her time with RSN. While we will miss her contribution to RSN, we look forward to collaborating with her in her new capacity, continuing to champion the needs of rural communities.

As she reflects on her experience, Sally highlights the unique nature of the job. "One of the best parts of the role," she says, "is working with our town and parish council membership. I love supporting their innovative solutions for rural issues, from energy savings to town centre regeneration. There’s a real sense of making a difference."

Sally’s day-to-day responsibilities have included scheduling and supporting a wide range of online events, liaising with members, and keeping important membership records up to date. As the first point of contact for the Rural Market Town Group and Rural Village Services Group, she’s enjoyed building relationships with new members and sharing best practices across communities.

The role has also provided opportunities to learn and grow, particularly in using digital tools like Excel, Zoom, and Eventbrite. As a member of our small, dynamic team, she has honed her IT and problem-solving skills, always finding new ways to work more efficiently and improve processes. "You’re constantly learning," Sally says, "whether it’s how to streamline event management or finding better ways to support our members."

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using digital tools like Excel, Zoom, Eventbrite, and Teams
  • The ability to work independently, as well as part of a remote team
  • An interest in rural issues and the challenges facing rural communities
