MP's 90-minute train journey to London is quicker than six-mile bus journey to his constituency office

The Coventry Telegraph covers news that a rural Warwickshire MP says he can get to London by train in less time than it takes to get the bus from his home to his constituency office

Fast trains take around an hour and a half to make the journey of just under 90 miles from Bedworth to London, while slower trains take around two hours and 20 minutes.

The MP, Craig Tracey, testified to his experience at a transport debate on bus links, where he called for services to be ‘re-invigorated’.

In response to his questions, Kelly Tolhurst MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Department for Transport, said the Government was providing new funding worth £5 billion, including a £20 million rural mobility fund and a £30 million boost to every local authority to support new bus services or replace lost ones.
