The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has announced the finalists in its Star Council Awards 2023.

Finalists for County Association of the Year are:

• Buckingham and Milton Keynes Association of Local Councils
• Essex Association of Local Councils
• Gloucestershire Association of Town and Parish Councils
• Warwickshire and West Midlands Association of Local Councils
• West Sussex Association of Local Councils

RSN Chief Executive, Kerry Booth, who was part of the judging panel, said: “We received an extremely high calibre of entries this year and whittling it down to a short list was extremely difficult.  However, those that we have chosen have really demonstrated how they have gone the extra mile to support their communities and make their areas a better place to live.”

NALC says these awards are the only ones in England that recognise local (parish and town) councils' contributions to their communities.  

The winners will be announced at a parliamentary reception in the House of Lords on 29 November 2023.
