Pub is The Hub, the not-for-profit organisation that helps pubs to diversify and provide essential local services, continues to drive its ‘Join Inn – Last Orders for Loneliness’ campaign forward.

The campaign, which was launched in late 2019, specifically looks to support publicans and their communities to become better connected, helping local people feel less isolated and, in the process helping to alleviate loneliness.

New initiatives in the ‘Join Inn’ campaign include a ‘Guide for Publicans’ which can be downloaded here

The guide aims to help publicans make a difference to someone’s day and help tackle loneliness in their communities.

Publicans can also take inspiration from a range of case studies featuring ideas to help reach out to possible isolated people suffering feelings of loneliness. The stories so far include everything from Meet-Up Mondays and Men’s Sheds to craft groups, community Christmas lunches and running/gardening sessions. Read the case studies here

Information on useful organisations for publicans to potentially partner with, helping to host regular groups or events to encourage people to ‘Join Inn’ at their pub are also now being shared through the Pub is The Hub website, www.pubisthehub.org.uk, and by its team of regional advisors.
