Linkage Community Trust is a Lincolnshire based charity (reg. no: 504913) that supports people with learning disabilities. We deliver high-quality specialist education, care, employment and support services throughout the county and beyond.
We were established in 1976 and owe our origins to the recognition that, for many people with varying degrees of learning difficulty, there is a shortage of appropriate support for them to lead creative and purposeful lives in the community.
Everything we do is about valuing and supporting individuals, their carers and families to ensure they achieve their aspirations.
The rural nature of Lincolnshire raises barriers for our clients particularly in their aspiration to lead independent lives. Poor public transport negatively impacts on their ability to access services, leisure activities and work – how are they to get to work where the bus services are poor to non-existent? - and lack of facilities in rural areas, e.g. sports facilities, reduces their ability to integrate.
All of the above contributes to loneliness and isolation.
