RSP Member - Platform Housing Group

Platform Housing Group (PHG) was formed in 2019 following the merger of Waterloo & Fortis.

PHG is one of the largest housing associations in the Midlands, with over 47,000 homes from Herefordshire in the West to the Lincolnshire coast in the East, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the North to the Cotswolds in the South. PHG has a strong social purpose and works to deliver quality homes and services that bring tangible and positive differences to local homes, lives and communities. It employs 1,400 people & in a recent Inside Housing survey was the 8th largest builder of affordable housing in England.

Our properties can be found in cities, towns & villages; a sizeable proportion can be found in rural areas too. Platform has recently won best small residential development at the Midlands Residential Property Awards for its development at Colonel Wright Close, Bakewell. The properties were built with stone from a local quarry & provided local people on low incomes with an affordable home.

We acknowledge the unique difficulties that rural communities face: pockets of hidden poverty, unaffordable housing, poor energy & transport infrastructure, seasonal employment & patchy digital connectivity to name a few. We work with those local communities to find solutions to thosese issues to ensure people are not disadvantaged just because of where they live.
