The Met Office issued another yellow weather warning as temperatures continue to reach the lowest levels recorded in seven years and many schools and airports around the country were forced to close.
The lowest temperature in the UK was recorded in Braemar in the Scottish Highlands at minus 15.4 degrees centigrade.
