Transformation Challenge workshops

WORKSHOPS aim to help local authorities submit bids to the government's Transformation Challenge Award.

The ½ day sessions aim to support authorities with the Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) element of bids to the Transformation Challenge Award.

They will be focused on authorities who are interested in putting forward bids for funding to further their plans to redesign services in partnership with other providers.

Workshops will equip authorities with a solid understanding of the tools and processes developed for the analysis and evaluation of public service reform initiatives.

The workshops are being organised by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), in partnership with New Economy.

Details of New Economy's work on Cost Benefit Analysis can be found here.

Workshops will be held in

* Taunton, 13 June (For details, email: Liz.Cole@local.gov.uk)
* Wakefield, 17 June (For details, email: mail@lgyh.gov.uk)
* Banbury, 25 June (Details tbc)

Further details on these workshops and more workshops to be held in the north of England and Midlands will be announced shortly.

Workshops will be focused on authorities who are interested in applying for 2015-16 Element B funding for ambitious partnership plans, where a full CBA is required at the final bid stage.

Authorities bidding for 2014-15 Element B are not required to submit a full CBA, although bidders for 2014-15 can attend if there is capacity.

Organisers are also welcoming bidding partners, whether from health, police, or other sectors, to attend these workshops.

As space is limited, places are restricted to two per authority. It is up to local authorities, whether they want to send two officers or one officer and a partner.
