UK petrol stations are being affected by lorry driver crisis

i News reports that fuel supply issues have resulted in service stations temporarily closing sites across Britain

Sites with high demand, such as service stations on motorways, will be prioritised and restocked as normal as opposed to rural station.

UK companies are currently grappling with a nationwide labour shortage which has been attributed to factors such as Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Road Haulage Association there are an estimated 100,000 vacancies across the HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicles) sector.

This has resulted in service stations such as BP and Tesco forced to restrict fuel deliveries to their UK petrol stations as a “rapidly worsening” HGV driver shortage continues to hammer supply chains.
