Kent County Council in push for last chance to secure rural funds

KentOnline are reminding readers that there is still time to tap into a council multi-million pound funding pot before it is wound down.

Kent County Council's Leader Programme will close at the end of this year after five years of investment during which time it has provided more than £5 million for rural communities.

The fund was designed to help rural businesses and swell the economy, it has supported more than 100 projects including farm diversification programmes, new business start-ups, business expansion and community infrastructure provision.

The East Kent, Kent Downs and Marshes and West Kent Leader areas are part of the Rural Development Programme for England with is part-funded by the government’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the European Union.
