National Rural Conference 2024 Sponsor Spotlight: Retrofit Information, Support, and Expertise (RISE)

As we count down the days to the 2024 National Rural Conference, we are excited to highlight Retrofit Information, Support, and Expertise (RISE) as one of our key sponsors. RISE will be featured in the Rural Net Zero session, providing valuable insights into domestic retrofit programmes and decarbonisation strategies for social housing providers and local authorities.

RISE is dedicated to supporting organisations in planning and delivering successful domestic retrofit initiatives. By offering free, expert-led training, guidance, and one-on-one mentoring, RISE helps housing providers and their supply chains navigate the complexities of retrofit schemes and government funding opportunities. Their mission is to ensure these programmes not only enhance energy efficiency but also improve comfort for residents and contribute to sustainability goals.

At the core of RISE’s offering is a comprehensive online hub filled with resources, as well as ongoing learning and development programs, making it easier for busy professionals to access support. Whether you’re a local authority, housing association, or supply chain partner, RISE equips you with the tools to drive progress in retrofitting and net-zero commitments.

Speaker Spotlight: Gareth Field, Senior Sustainability Consultant, Turner & Townsend

We are also pleased to introduce Gareth Field, who will be speaking at the Rural Net Zero session on Wednesday 18th September during the conference. Based in Cumbria, Gareth brings a wealth of experience across sustainability, housing, and energy advisory roles. He recently joined Turner & Townsend, where he supports housing associations as part of the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) contracts.

Previously, Gareth led the sustainability agenda at South Lakes Housing, managing the decarbonisation retrofit of 900 homes. He also spearheaded the 'Cold to Cosy' initiative for Cumbria Action for Sustainability, helping those in or at risk of fuel poverty. Gareth's commitment to creating sustainable, energy-efficient homes makes him a perfect fit for the conference's focus on achieving net-zero targets.

For more on RISE, including their events and resources, visit their website or connect with them on LinkedIn.  Don't miss the opportunity to engage with Gareth and the RISE team at this year’s conference as we explore the future of rural decarbonisation and retrofitting.
